CLIENT COMMENTS
"I found Mitch Brown of
SoutheasternRoots on a list of expert genealogists made available on the
Alabama Archives website. I was impressed that he offered a free initial
consultation and I was blown away by how much research he did overnight for
the consultation. This would be the first of many positive experiences I had
with Mitch. He is excellent, thorough and quick. He has an exceptional work
ethic and takes great pride in what he does. His prices are more than
reasonable and he goes the extra mile for his client. I am working on a book
about four generations of my family and I could not have gotten this project
off the ground without Mitch's excellent, detailed work. Together we made
great and wonderful discoveries about my family. Working with him was a real
pleasure and I came to see him as a personal friend and ally in the process.
I give him my highest recommendation."
"Thank you so much for your excellent work on my Stevenson family research. Learning that my great-great grandfather was a Union soldier during the Civil War was a real surprise! You were able to accomplish in a few weeks what my whole family had been unable to do for years! I am really looking forward to continuing your research into my family's history."

"Over the past few years, I've hired a number of genealogists for various research projects. Mitch Brown differs in so many positive ways compared to those I have previously selected. A few things that really impressed me about Mitch and SoutheasternRoots:
Mitch puts you in the driver's seat as you roll through your family bygones
of yesteryear. Unlike other genealogists for hire, he has actively engaged
me to consider and speculate what might have been taking place in the past.
He has often left me with some intriguing thoughts to ponder. I have simply
been amazed and astonished with what he's been able to uncover. He reminds
me more of a detective with a time machine—bringing
back information other genealogists would have definitely overlooked. If
anyone is looking for a professional and reliable genealogist, their search
is over with SoutheasternRoots."
"Today I received your report covering the genealogical research that I asked you to conduct for me. It is most impressive, and I thank you for the prompt, diligent handling of my inquiry. Without any question your work-product is the most thorough and comprehensive that I have ever received from a professional researcher. This project was especially esoteric and complex. Researching loose court records is always difficult, but the arcane, confusing and illogical indexing scheme that was used when these court records were filmed would have made most people throw up their hands in despair. Being confronted with over 70 rolls of microfilm and finding the relatively modest number of cases within that multitude of material that related to the family that I am researching was a daunting task. You were able to make the project one of manageable dimensions, thereby finding the relevant cases, copying the particularly important documents from them, and then presenting the results of your efforts in a report that is easy to use. Of equal importance is that you have now provided me with specific references should I have any later need to go back to the court files. All that was accomplished within a very reasonable time frame, and well within the cost that I had budgeted for the research. Thank you for your professionalism. I am sure that I will call on you again for other research."

". . . Mitch was extremely quick in replying to any and every question I managed to come up with during our working relationship, never once making me feel "dumb" for asking. He has a great work ethic and is very upfront about any costs he might incur during the research. His costs are definitely reasonable and he is willing to help you figure out the best approach based on your budget. Not having the time to sit and go through 5 years of newspaper microfilm column by column, he did so in much less time than I would have and managed to glean information from it that I would have missed. He is the one who figured out that my ancestor had left Georgia for Tennessee and pointed me in that direction. I notified Mitch after I finally discovered my ancestor's will and death in Tennessee whereupon he took it upon himself to try and find the location of my ancestor's burial—without any expectation of payment on my part. Again, his willingness and eagerness to help those who need it is refreshing and much appreciated."
