Alf McCarty

Alf McCarty, a white man in the employ of Mr. J. W. Williams, near Peeks Hill, in this county, was accidentally killed Friday last. He was hauling a heavy timber to the gin house of Mr. Williams, when the wagon careened on a hillside and threw the timber off, Mr. McCarty falling with it. The heavy timber fell upon his breast and crushed the life out of him.
