Jeff Alford, of Alford's Bend, Etowah county a prominent citizen, and well known in this county also, died last week, at his home. For 9 years Mr. Alford has suffered with cancer of the face, and it eventually terminated his life. He was a good neighbor, and an honest man, one who will be missed in his section. He owned a valuable plantation on the river, and was accounted "well-to-do." He leaves a widow and several children.
