Mrs. Clark Morgan Died, at White Plains, Ala., Dec. 24, 1887, the beloved wife of Mr. Clark Morgan, aged forty years and ten months. Mrs. Morgan was the daughter of the late C. M. Martin, of White Plains, Ala. In early life she united with the M. E. Church South and continued to be a consistent member until called from earth. About six months ago she was stricken with a painful disease and from that time her life was one of great suffering. Physicians who were tenderly careful in their ministrations, loving relatives, anxious husband, all of whom loved her, were untiring in their efforts to restore her to health; but the Father who loved her and whom she loved, had in store better things, a brighter home than earth could afford. Our sympathies go out, especially to the husband, whom God has bereft of so loving a companion, and to the twelve children, some of whom are not old enough to realize a mother's love. This is a dark and mysterious providence—that a mother and wife so kind and affectionate, just at the period when her family most needed her wise counsels and prayers should fall in death. But Sister Morgan is dead! Oh God, how sad, and sadly is she missed at home! "But God seeth not as man seeth." What to us is now dark, will be revealed in that world of light, when we shall see as we are seen, and know as we are known. We commend them to the loving care of that God whom their dear one so faithfully served. May God prepare her husband and children to meet her where parting will never come. S. R. EMERSON. |
