Wm. Laird, one time an old citizen of Jacksonville, died in California recently. His daughter, writing to a friend here about his death, says he never relinquished his desire to again live in Jacksonville and that his love for his old home was second alone to that for his children. He died a christian, resigned to his fate. He was a good and deserving man and had many friends here who will regret deeply to hear of his death.
