Mr. J. W. Yankey Dead.

From Saturday's Daily Herald

Mr. J. W. Yankey died at his home on Flint street at half past 7 o'clock yesterday evening, after having laid at death's door for several weeks in the hopeless grasp of consumption.

Mr. Yankey was a resident of Louisville, Ky., up to a few months ago, when he removed, with his family, to Albany. He had been a sufferer with the disease which killed him for a long time, but since coming to this city, his condition had been more critical than formerly, and his relatives and friends had known that the end was not far off. All during Thursday and yesterday life hung to his suffering body by but a thread, and his death, at the hour named above, was not a surprise.

A wife, who is a daughter of Mrs. E. C. Davis, of this city, and two children, both boys, survive Mr. Yankey. To these bereaved ones the Herald offers such poor sympathy as can come from earthly sources, and trusts that they may find a more grateful solace from Him who taketh away.

The funeral will take place from the Presbyterian church at 4 o'clock this afternoon and will be conducted by Rev. D. G. Armstrong.
