Miss Lena Franklin Tribute of Respect Resolutions adopted by the Antioch Sunday School of Upson county, relative to the death of Miss Lena Franklin, which occurred at her home on May 24, 1885. Whereas, it has pleased all-wise God to remove from us one of our purest gems of society, a consistent member of the M. E. Church and a bright, affectionate pupil of our Sunday School; therefore, be it Resolved, 1st. That we bow in humble submission to His divine will, realizing that He "doeth all things well," and that our loss has been the gain of the Celestial on high. Resolved, 2nd. That we highly commend, and strive to emulate the crystal life of our beloved and departed sister, storing away on the sacred pages of memory, her words of love and deeds of kindness that are, within themselves evidences of true Christianity. "Her faults were slight and few As human faults could be, And her virtues were as many, too, As gems beneath the sea; And her thoughts did heavenward roam Until, like links of gold, They drew her up to her sweet home Within the Savior's fold." Resolved, 3rd. That we extend our warmest condolence and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved relatives of the deceased, and invoke God's blessings upon them in this their sore affliction. Resolved, 4th. That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the Middle Georgia Times for publication. J. T. Barron, E. T. Walls, Lizzie B. Grubb, Ella E. McKenzie, Committee.
