Old Man Sam Brass Dead.

From Friday's Daily Herald

Old man Sam Brass died at his home in this city at an early hour yesterday morning after a short illness with pneumonia.

The news of the death of this aged Negro will cause a feeling of regret to all the people of Albany. For eighteen years he had been uninterruptedly in the service of Dr. W. A. Strother in the capacity of driver and his face and figure have long been familiar to old and young alike. He was nearly seventy years of age at the time of his death, and was a representative of that class of slavery-time darkies that is fast disappearing. He was true and faithful, and his loss is keenly felt by Dr. Strother.
